Building Stronger Communities: Winchester’s Commitment to Service

EAST ALTON, IL (January 19, 2024) — Winchester Ammunition is proud to announce the outstanding efforts of its employees in contributing more than 21,000 hours of community service across the East Alton, IL, Independence, MO, and Oxford, MS communities in 2023.

Building Stronger Communities: Winchester’s Commitment to Service

With a dedicated team of approximately 3,500 employees, Winchester actively engaged in various community service initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to making a positive impact beyond its business operations.

Winchester volunteer activities spanned a diverse range of causes, including:

  • Community efforts such as Boys and Girls Clubs, keeping kids safe by providing a positive environment where they can learn, play, and grow
  • Community Blood Center and the American Red Cross organizations, providing safe, lifesaving blood through donations for critical medical care
  • The Salvation Army, providing immediate relief to those impacted by crises and storms
  • K.C. Harvesters and GlenEd food pantries, providing food and resources to those facing food insecurity
  • Animal Shelters in Independence, MO and Oxford, MS providing quality care and help finding forever homes for animals in need.
  • Folds of Honor, which provides families of fallen and disabled service members and first responders educational scholarships
  • The Veteran’s Community Project, serving homeless and at-risk veterans
  • Wreaths Across America, honoring those who served by placing wreaths on veterans’ graves
  • Boy Scouts of America, preparing young people to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders
  • 4-H, empowering young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime
  • FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), preparing young people for the future through life-changing youth robotics programs that build skills, confidence, and resilience

Employees from all levels of the organization enthusiastically participated, showcasing Winchester's collective dedication to giving back to the communities where it operates.
